There are two development authorities with functions similar to those of the commodity boards.

• Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA), Cochin. Has regional offices in Bhubaneshwar,Calcutta, Chennai, Goa, Gujarat, Mangalore, Mumbai, Quilon, Tuticorin, New Delhi and Vishakhapatnam


• Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), New Delhi; has regional offices in Bangalore, Calcutta and Mumbai.
