- Flextronics plans expansion in India
Electronics manufacturing services firm, Flextronics is planning
to expand its base in India. The company might increase its staff
strength by about 50% soon.
Electronics manufacturing services firm, Flextronics has decided
to expand its base in India.Though the exact size of the investment
is not out, the company has confirmed that it is scouting for locations.
The company has pumped in close to $900 million in India over the
last four years. The company has big plans and intends to increase
its staff strength by about 50%, shortly.
Vice President of Flextronics, Vijayan Chinnasami has said that
the company is searching for various locations for investment.
"We are looking at Bangalore, Chennai and Pondicherry as possible
locations, for our investment," said Chinnasami.
Flextronics is also planning to look beyond telecom manufacturing.
In fact, the company might also be looking at consumer products.
Flextronics confirmation of its plans in India must have come as
a relief for the government, since Intel is still silent on its
investment plans.
